No there no middle name for him which rules out some that i have found do far x i going to write a letter to that address and i will get records on monday as at univerdity tomorrow and friday so wont have time i really appreciste all the help thank you x

My mum told me douglas stayed in ruthergen bt no more than that sorry x

I would echo Rambling Rose view that it may be worth trying to pursue your search through Douglas Hay if you are sure that your information is correct.

Laura, Have you tried writing to the address for Douglas? if not you might consider doing so, in case they are still there.

I'm sending a PM with a possible for Michelle, but would advise you have a look at Scotland's people website to try and pin down George's birth/marriage and the same for Douglas and Michelle.

Is there anyone else who would be able to give some help in finding George Hay or know of anyone else with that surname or from the denistoun glasow area everything i have tried so far i keep hiting a brick wall wit

There is a record on the voters roll 2007 of a Douglas,Michelle, and Annie Hay living in the Glasgow Area.

You stated that you thought that George's brother's name was Douglas and he had a daughter called Michelle.

They may not now be listed on the Public Version of the Voter's Roll.

Thank you no i dont have any more information as mum refuses to tell me i think his brothers name could have been douglas and his daughters name michelle i dont know my half sisters name or grandparents though. Thsnks for tip also it was glasgow i was meaning. X

First thing first! You need to say where 'denistoun' is - do you mean Dennistoun Glasgow maybe?

If so, I suggest you put it in your heading.

Do you know anything else at all? No need to put on here, but if you can find out names of parents/siblings, or an address for him, it all helps.

You do have one thing going for you, and that is his name. It isn't ridiculously common, like John Smith or something!

I am looking for my birth dad i know very little information about him so unsure if this is going to work. I was born in march 1985 and him and my mum had been together for roughly 9 years and split just after my first birthday. My mum is Margaret Burns and we lived in denistoun when was with my dad i know he had a daughter older than myself and a brother who had a daughter also. As far as i am aware he was a bus driver.
