Christopher, on the freebmd site, make sure you scroll down to the search 'proper' , as at the top of the page is an advert for Ancestry, which is a paid site.

I will message you with the names and dates though ,see 'messages' in menu at top of this page.

Thanks Kath x yes they are my grand parents on his side who i never knew or met. As far as I know his brothers and sisters have all now passed. Its their children that I would like to meet / get in touch with if at all possible.
Its really sad that my family i.e. brothers and sisters have been denied the other side of the family. We know all our mothers side, and sadly that is dwindling. So as you can imaging to actually meet his side would be great. :-)

Christopher if you go to freebmd.org.uk enter the surnames Horne mmn Thornley and you will see your father's siblings...some could still be living so I won't post here

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

edit to add, there appear to be 4 siblings, once you have their names you can search trees here to see if anyone is connected.

Hi I am looking for my dads family. His name is John Edward Horne, born is Derby 1924, mothers maiden name Thornley. He first wife (my mum) was Dorothy, they divorced around 1975 and he married his now wife Elaine Horne (Langeham-Smith).
He died last week July 2016. Would be nice to fill in the gaps as we never knew his family, once met his brother Vic (Victor) and thats all I have. Any info greatly appreciated
