Over 70% of WW1 records were destroyed in WW2 bombing - the cause would have been included on his medical examination form which wasn't in the Pension Packet. There was no mention of a pension being paid.

As he lied about his age, he might have attempted to join later, perhaps under an assumed name, when they weren't quite so pickey about physical ability.

If you are trying to find his death, Mabel's DC ought to give her status - married, widow or single woman if divorced/separated. Divorce was very rare but did happen.

Thank you all very much. That completes my Jackson boys for WW1. I will have to find why he was not accepted as suitable...I know he was 35 when the war started so perhaps his age was against him (or for him probably) sonya

Hello Sonya, do you think he died during WW1 or did he survive the war?

EDIT: His short service attestation is on Ancestry. He was discharged after 8 days as unlikely to become an efficient soldier.

I am trying to find what happened to C DJackson born Oxford 1879 living Gloucestershire 1911 joined up for WW1 RoyalArmy Ordnance Corps. Have a picture of him with his 5 brothers all in uniform in Oxford paper. I have traced all the others but no record for him. Any help please. sonya
