I'm thinking that GR post on Facebook for all the members who can't get here.

If I was thinking of joining GR, and saw some of the messages on FB (posted by members) it would put me off.

It doesn't excuse their bad manners in not posting here first (if at all).

You're right Glitter, they're not showing much respect at all.

Sick of all these problems

Just ended up on FR Dating !!!!!!

Just replied to a message and then tried to come back on the boards

Not sure this site has much reputation left after all the problems that remain after more than 6 months.

Beginning to feel the Team have no respect for its members after their failure to communicate properly about anything

The announcement posted in GR was put there nearly eight hours after I typed in GR's page in facebook:

"Any news as to whether or not the the ongoing error message issue will ever be resolved?"

Just after 5pm, I was referred by GR (in facebook) to the announcement here. I responded:

"Seen, thanks. " ... Unfortunately the people who use the site the most are the people effected the worst...." - I hardly visit the site nowadays because of its instability, yet I am still affected most times when I do visit. "... This will not be a quick process, so once again we have to ask for your patience...." Nothing in the announcement answered my question. Will the ongoing error message issue ever be resolved? I urge Genes Reunited staff to read the other issues, too, please, such as http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1295933. And, if I wanted to post in the site currently, I would have to log in; my patience is running out, and the longer these issues continue, the poorer, unfortunately, will be the reputation of the site."

They have responded to Joy on FB

but obviously, yet again, NOT on this site.

Hope they listen to you Vera.
They have totally ignored those of us who say we donĀ“t use Facebook ever since they first started posting on there.
We have asked that at the very least as a matter of courtesy, info about Genes should be posted FIRST on the Genes site, but without even an acknowlegement of the requests.

I've joined the elite! I've had my first error message. The problem now is that there are so many threads about error messages that I don't know which one to post on.

I've also been reading on some posts that GR sometimes responds on FB. That's not much help to those of us who have chosen not to join FB. Please GR could you put your responses on the boards here as well as on FB.

I suddenly got the Error message no matter what I wanted to do, on .co.uk round about 5 am UK time this morning. Others were already complaining about the fact that they could do nothing.

I tried .co.za ................ worked perfectly!

I t tried to open .co.uk about 30 minutes ago............... error message

so used .co.za

............... got in immediately, opened Messages immediately, opened Inbox with no problem, replied to message with no problem :))))

I note that it is now about 8:00 pm UK time, on a Bank Holiday, and that this problem has been on-going since at least 4 am this morning, that I know of .....

and also that there has not one single peep out of any member of the GR staff, on here and not on FB, although there are many posts on the GR wall on that site re the error message, and inability to even get into GR.

and there probably will not be until 8 am tomorrow morning.

I wonder why one GR site almost always works when .co.uk has sooooooo many problems???

Reggie ........

........... Phil Moir said some weeks ago that the server had nothing to do with these problems ........... and he was going to tell Support to stop using them as an excuse :-S :-S :-S

Haven't been on GR for a couple of days but have just logged in. As usual, got in first time with no problems and can move around all the features and boards quickly and easily. My only problem is with the new tree and that seems to be the same for everyone.

I almost feel like a second class citizen - not important enough to get an error message! I suppose the more you use GR the more chance there is of getting error messages and I don't use it that much, though I have been on a lot more lately.

I've noticed on the boards that a lot of people say they don't log out. I always do, but I can't see how that would make any difference. Maybe I should change my name to Lucky!

Really getting annoyed about this problem.

Just logged into site and clicked on Community Tab - error rmessage

Click on GR Logo - error message after error message etc etc

Click on Suggestions Board - error message

Not even tried Annoucement Board to see if the Team have posted about any problems but as the "New" symbol is not showing then I presume there is no annoucement

wisechild

wisechild Report 9 Apr 2012 15:13

Reggie.
In my experience if you hit the back button you just get taken back to the previous error message. Or am I doing something wrong??

Yet again these wretched messagea are proliferating

Sorry. An error has occurredThe page you were trying to load has experienced an error. This error has been logged and will be investigated.

If you hit the back button on your browser, it will return you to the page you were on, and you may like to try the action again. If you repeatedly experience the same error, please contact Support via the Contact Us menu under Help.

If you were following a link from your favourites, an email or from another site, the link may have changed. We recommend returning to the home page of the Genes Reunited site, and following the existing menu options to navigate to the same content.

To return to the home page, click on the Genes Reunited logo.

And if one contacts 'SUPPORT' (something of a misnomer ) the response is to ask for details of which server one is using.......... as if that is supposed to make any difference when it is THIS SITE which is at fault.

What a shower...................

Yes I've had a few today. One group about 07:20 and another at about 13:45. Only lasted a couple of minutes in both cases.
