To 2012 is rather recent, isn't it?

For historical records, try Cyndi's List as a portal

You need to know the town where the person was registered, there is no central registration system in Spain.
If an English person, the death may also be registered at the Consulate/Embassy.

The main provinces of Spain included in this new update are Alicante, Almeria, Barcelona, Cádiz, Huelva, Jaén, Coruna, Leon, Lugo, Murcia, Segovia, Sevilla and Valencia.
