The Real 'Call the Midwife'!

Published on 11 Mar 2013 16:44 : 0 comments : 2113 views

We're all big fans of Call the Midwife here in the Genes office, and were very sad that last night saw the last episode of the second series. However, our latest family story featured on our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/genesreunited, might get you through another week without a new episode.

Jo Watson has been kind enough to share her story with us. Her great grandmother was a midwife in the 1900's, her grandmother worked at a maternity hospital making uniforms and nightdresses for the midwives and babies, her mother was a nurse, and keeping up with the tradition, Jo herself has been a midwife for over 25 years.

Jo's great grandmother used to visit her patients on a push-bike, and leave a note on her front door with her route incase any expectant mothers or fathers should need to find her! Hear Jo tell this story and more by watching our latest video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0M8jtu8FTM&list=PL2_cMFR6oatCpJMQF4GSjXG0TRX-CCcWN&index=1 Midwife
