Find Ancestors

Hi all,
my husbands friend has told him he know nothing much about his family, apart from them all having died.

His mum was born Mary Ann Hadley c1923, not sure where but he believes she was in service in the birmingham area in the 1940's along with her sister Josephine Frances Hadley.
She married Reginald Dales who he thinks was older than his mum, born c1912.
They had 4 children, Francis Reginald c1947 -1989, Terrence Grenville born december 1949, Christopher Nicholas born july 1958(friend) and Rosemary Alice c1960 - 1964

He doesn't know where his parents were born or where they married. He said the family lived in lincolnshire for many years, where his mum died june 1986 aged 63 in Alford , lincs.
I have said that once we find a marriage then he may need to buy a marriage cert to find out more.
Any help would be great please.

Your first reply was for a marriage. I wonder why they married there. I wonder if he was in the forces as it was war time.

Assuming that the dads birth in 1917 is correct, could anyone please check for siblings.
I can never find these things out. I wish I knew how people can cross reference with mothers maiden name.

You would need someone with a subscription to find who was living with him as there is more than one househols with a Frank and Alice Dales in Spilsby.

Thanks, thats brilliant. I am unable to do searches on GR at the moment. GR said that I have not got the latest verion of internet explorer but my pc has been playing up and I am unable to get it sorted.
We have just been in touch with our friend and the 1992 death is correct which means the reginald dales birth in 1917 is correct. He did not know when his dad was born. He also said his dad was in the forces, which explains the oxforshire marriage.
