I am trying to find information about John Cannell and his wife Elizabeth. John was born Douglas IOM 1805 and Elizabeth 1803. The lived in Liverpool and I have found them on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census. They were married before 1837 so how can I trace when they came to Liverpool and what Elizabeths maiden name was. Obviously Cannell is a very popular IOM name and struggling on where to look. Can anyone help? Thanks |

I would have thought it unlikely that John changed from being a mariner to a bootmaker and with the date discrepancy as well probably the wrong one. Pity. I think I would go for trying to find a marriage in the IOM. |
