Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me with the above two people. Both were my great grandparents. They were married on 11th April 1913 in Glasgow. They had four Daughters. In 1914, they lived at 54 Canal Street, Glasgow.

I am not really sure, anything really. My late Gran was very private and she was kind of shunned by the family because she had a child outside of marriage and with a married man!!!
I know my Great Grandparents had four daughters altogether. my Gran being the eldest.
I believe she nursed my great grandfather till he died, though I am unsure when he passed. Possibly early 70's.

You need to look on Scotlandspeople. The marriage certificate of Alexander and Williamina will give you their parents names and you may then be able to find them on the 1901 census.

To look for their daughters, births after 1909 are not available to view online - you need to buy certificates.

There were at least 2 Canal Streets in the Glasgow area - 1 in Port Eglinton and the other (mostly likely yours) in Port Dundas.

If you want census looks ups please post all the details from their marriage certificate - if you don't have it you can get it from Scotlandspeople as marriage entries prior to 1934 can be viewed online. Credits cost £6 for 30 - 1 credit to view search results and 5 to view / download register entry.

If you don't find the marriage, remember that Williamina was probably known as Ina and may have used that when registering her marriage.
