Would appreciate any help trying to find any information on my gg grandmother. Mary ann Hagan c.1863. believe to be living in renfrewshire scotland.

Is that maiden or married name?

If married then who is husband or names of any children?

Maiden name didnt mary until 1898. for which i have info. in 1901 census she has a niece living with her by the name of Rosina carvel. not sure if her or husbands connection

That's fairly old for a first marriage back then - might she have married before?

all starts to make sense when you start piecing it together, maybe thats why rosina has moved out of the family home her dad remarried maybe Wicked step mother syndrome! or maybe too many cooks!

If the Mary Hagan (1891 Census) is your Mary Ann..Father : Francis Hagan.

These are the deaths of her her parents....

Mary Anne Gough wife of Francis Hagan died 13 Crawford Street 5 November 1889.
Francis Hagan (Tailor) husband of Mary Anne Gough died June 1896 at 6 Roslin Street.

Ann Hilliard who married Patrick Carvel (father of Rosina) was the widow of James Hilliard 1 Smiths Lane (Died June 1899)

so much information so grateful. i did find a marriage record on family search suggesting that mary ann gough married francis Hagan and went on to have a daughter also named mary ann.think this information is correct. all other info greatly appreciated. this will give me more to investigate! the more clues the easier the riddle.huge thanks to you all:)
