Find Ancestors

I would be grateful for some help tracing my husbands family. His grandmother was Isabel May Murry Patterson 1887 born Liverpool, they Lived at 25 Sandon Street Liverpool. I am interested in tracing the Patterson line. I think there may be a connection with Belfast. I know they were at Sandon Street in 1911, and they lived there untill the late 1930. Can I beg some help as to where the Pattersons where pre 1911. Your help as ever is appreciated regards Eileen

Flick Thank you so much a great lot of info that I wasnt aware of. The 1901 census very interesting. Because William J Brodie is living with them hes 18 yrs old. He went on to Marry Isabel Patterson. They are my husbands grand parents. I didnt know that he was living with them, when Isabel was so young . I think they married when Isabel was about 27. There is also a rev. Thomas patterson in the family(Belfast) I dont know a great deal about him, but assume that he is related to Isabels father. I would like to know more about him cos I have some bits and bobs passed down through the family, and he sounds a very interesting man. He studied in Edinburgh I think. Thanks for your help Eileen

It shows that they married at Liverpool, St. Bride With St. Saviour.

Unable to find any obvious marriage for Isabel's parents.........I think you'll need her birth cert for MMN

Flick. I am wondering where the (3rd name ) Murray comes from, I have always thought that it was Isabels mothers maiden name, but its clear that she was McLean. It must be a family name any ideas thanks

Hello Eileen :)

if you're close to Liverpool you may be able to search the parish registers. The record office in the library should be closed for renovation now. There were plans to move the machines next door in the museum and the written archives a little out of town, possibly sandhills.

If the records are on microfilm (and the museum have the machines all set up like they were before) you could check St brides for the year and quarter and see what is on the marriage certificate.

If they haven't been microfilmed, you may be able to check with the archives to see if they hold the parish records for that year.

Hi Eileen, Just check with the record office before you go whether they're all set up yet at the museum with the machines and the microfilm etc. Things were up in the air the last time I spoke to them but may be resolved now.

Also it may be useful to find out whether they hold the records for microfilm for that church and for that year.
