	Formerly Welford means that was her maiden name. If she had been married before it would say something like " formerly Welford, late ***" where *** would be her previous husband's surname. Rose

	My Dad was Joseph Welford Rye . I have tried and sent 3 messages to Linda But no reponse or access to her tree. Thank you for all your help

	Thankyou Reggie, Glitter baby. Lindsey. My Dads birth certificate had onunder his mothers name formally Weford. Naive just assumed she was married and had had my Uncle George. You can see that I am new to this
