Might well be that way couls explain why I cant find a marriage around 1837 and before for George & Jane

yes I looked for a marriage in liverpool because that had a lot of irish residents but couldnt see it , would say they married Ireland in view of Harriet being born there strange tho Robert being born Chatham Kent points to maybe a miltary connection for George ??

Yes Harriet is born Chatham Kent too apparently , but hey I cant seem to find her , lol .
I'm sure in I think it may be the 51 search George is listed as a Shoemaker/Chelsea pensioner which is army but trying to find him is another thing !

am back and re looked at census


Yes it does say shoemaker /Chelsea pensioner on the 1851 I missed that but I did pick up on the Military connection .I live near Chatham so know of the Navy & Army connections here. It does say on there that harriet was born Ireland but on the 1861 there is lots of crossing out cos the enumerator seems to have muddled as he was writing it down Trying to decipher where in Ireland jane was born but its difficult even enlarging the image it looks like Corfu but that cant be right!!!.

Have you looked on the National Archives site for Georges Army records If they came out as a pensioner then records are kept . I got my grt x5 grandads army record from there & and he was in the Army from 1825-1849

You could also check for baptism on City Ark website for Robert

Lol - yes it does say born Ireland & Corfu but even I know Corfu is not in Ireland lol- I dont think the county boundaries were ever changed that much - the millitary has to be right for the Chelsea pentioner bit , thinks I need a good search on that .
