elizabeth pickering b 1878 woodville married a fred howkins (my g grandad) in 1900 ashby de la zouch

elizabeth parents were willoughby pickering b 1842 blackfordby and the above john pickering is one of his brothers so by what youve said could john have been born earlier in 1821 and still be willoughbys brother ?????

That marriage must be a different family as your John was born c1821 and the one whose marriage details you have just posted was born c1840.

i know that john married in 1859 newhall derbyshire to a eliza maybe 71 is mistranscrbied and elizabeth should be johns wife and thomas did re marry one of the above you found christine

John is listed at end of family and brother to Thomas the head of household. It doesn't give John's marital status.
