Hi All
My Grandmother Caroline Russell birth we are told 22 June 1897 Walworth London.

I believe that her father was Alfred Joseph Russell 1864-1909 Surrey
Marriage 1d 150
And her Mother Lydia Gregory 1869 -1905 Surrey 1Q 2a 245
I have what I believe is part of this family in the 1891 census and this same parts of this family in 1901 Census.

But cannot find a birth record for Caroline anywhere.
• I cannot find a birth
• She doesn’t appear in the 1891 or 1901 census

She had Sisters Lydia May Russell 1890-1946
Rosina Martha Russell 1891

She also had brothers James abt 1890 and Joseph ?

Cannot find these in any Census.
She Married Walter De rose in 1921
I have been told that sometimes the children were not registered ?????
Could the children have been in an orphanage with no registration ????

Is the date of birth you have taken from her death cert ? as this can often be wrong.

Registration was compulsory from 1875.........

Have you got her father's name from her marriage cert?

What was his stated occupation?

did she have a second christian name

Yes I think it was taken from that cert But i think I have tried most dates +or-

No other Christian name as far as I Know

Yes fathers name from mar cert

Stated occupation Sawdust contractor

If you haven't found these people together on a census.........where do you get your info about their names, birth years, and relationship to each other?

My parents knew all the Brothers and sisters

I have marriage cert for Alfred the Father
marriage cert for Lydia the sister
marriage cert for Rosina

Just to get some idea of location..........this presumably is the marriage of the parents........

So where is 2 year old Caroline?

Yes this is the same as I have researched so far so we are on the right track

If you had all this to start with why didnt you put it on the board ?

I did say I had found some of the family in 1891 and 1901 Census But Carolline and sister and brothers are missing
