I am looking for the Death of Slaney George Archer. He was born Q1 1890 in Bethnal Green. |

If you don't have any other information about when he was last alive (say at one of his children's weddings etc) then it will be a very long trawl through the complete death index right up to about 1980ish |

I have checked the complete index on Ancestry for 1918, 1919 and 1920 and there is no death recorded for that name. |

FreeBMD dosn`t bring up any births either for a child named Archer MMN Harman anytime after 1915, searching all counties and districts. Did he die in the war? |

You could check the Commonwealth War Graves site:- |

I have checked the war graves site and there is this death, but it seems more like someone from Scotland:- |

Sorry, ignore my last post as the service number is different. I hadn't noticed you had given a service number at first. |

I wonder if his name was Stanley and not Slaney as in the other records? The regimental number is correct. |

Just that the other name you mention was his mums name |

That would explain the confusion when you look at the records you'll see Ethel has been written above so perhaps he gave his mum as next of kin then after he married he changed it to his wife. |
