Thankyou for your help Ericthered. I do appreciate it. We have ordered a certificate from Wakefield which has George being born around 1841 with a father Edward who is a tailor so fingers crossed it's a match. I did check freebmd but as it only gave me the birth name and year but no parents etc I wasn't sure where to go with it as there were about 4 George Websters.

Thanks John. We have actually found the Edward Webster to Ann Milner entry before but I wasn't sure it was right once I saw the Mary Ann entry on a census. I wonder if she would have changed her name? Hopefully the certificate will confirm something. I'll just hope I'm on the right track and there wasn't another George Webster with father Edward a Tailor (unlikely isn't it?).

Thanks again, Victoria.
