The 1901 census has a Mary Russell, age 11, born Beer. She's a niece in the household of Thomas & Maria Russell in Beer. |

As her mother died in 1891, when she was still an infant, but her father didn't remarry until 1897 perhaps her aunt & uncle offered to take her in. |

The marriage record lists him as George N. Pulman...assuming that he was born in the area, this may be him. But, of course, you will need the marriage cert. to confirm. |

This is weird....George and his brother seem to have been registered on the census twice. Once as visitors, as above, and again with their parents and other siblings. |
