Hi Julie - my mistake, Newark is Notts and I don't yet know her parents.

Hi Dee - My Rose got married in 1904 and as there were no other sensible ones in FreeBMD I picked the Newark one. Sorry she died but thanks for letting me know.

I have now found a Rosa(or e) image very hard to read) in Stamford Lincs, June Qtr 1884 so 1891 census for Stamford would be much appreciated.

1901 for my Stamford Rose 1884 has no show but she is in the single line 1891 age 7 at Barnack, Stamford. Does that show for you please?
By the way, Barnack itself is Northants...

Denise I have been working 'laterally' with Mason children born in Stamford prior to 1881 and checking them for being in Barnack in 1891. 5th one Ernest 1878 came up trumps so now have 1881 census :-

I checked the 1901 out and William is not there, maybe deceased but Ernest and Percy are. Still no Rose though.

Thanks Dee, that must be the one for Barnack, so not the same family as the 1881!
Stibbington is not far from Stamford and if they had moved to Barnack by 1891 then her marriage in 1904 would show up as the District of Stamford. May be this is the light at the end of the tunnel...
