possible for John perhaps, I have looked in the areas of kent closest to Canterbury and Margate and this is really the only one close to either I think . No sign of wife though . |

have looked at the pages of census previous and next to the witnesses in the hope that the families lived near but no luck I am afraid (what a shame you weren't looking for the Jezzards though, they are so easy to spot!) |

I quite often go and have a drink at the Gate at Marshside which is very close to both Chislet and Hoath - like the third point of a rough triangle. |

I think a child born 20 odd years after a marriage is a distinct possibility Paul. My gr gr grandma was born 1800c, married in 1815 and had her last child in 1842. Took me a while to confirm that as at first I didn't believe it either, but marrying at about 15 years of age presumably helped! |

I did visit Chislet Church a couple of years ago to look at known gravestones of 6 of my Sturges ancestors who are buried there. I was lucky to find the info on the net whith exact posisions of the graves. |
