Hi Selena,

I have lots of info about Frederick Britton Constable (the son of Frederick Hamilton Constable and Rose Lloyd) but sketchy info about his sister Lillian. I know she existed! but that's about it. The info you found could well be her. Either they were twins, or she was born earlier and they were christianed at the same time maybe?

I have no idea where the name Brittain comes into things! His parents were thespians so who knows!!!! ;-)

I have just noticed that on the 1911 census Frederick has written under years completed in marriage - 11. Which means he was married in 1900ish. So presumably that means that Ivy is a second wife.

Thanks for the help.

I've found Frederick on the 1901 census before. I came to the conclusion that either Rose died and he remarried, she changed her name or she is elsewhere and this is another family member.

I've pretty much ruled out the latter, as I don't have an Ivy in the family to fit with those details (but you never know!).

But even looking for a Rose Lloyd's birth with 'Ivy's' details I came up blank.

Was looking for Rose married to Frederick Constable and found him or someone with his name on the 1901 census with Ivy Constable (both married) but doesn't say wife (?sister and brother) - both actors. No Rose.

I can't find her on any other census. I think that Frederick (her husband) may have remarried by the 1901 census, so I think she possibly died before then. The only source I have for her place of birth is the 1891 census.

It could be wrong.

Have you got Rose on later censuses? Is her place of birth always the same?

This is the only Rose with father Frederick I can find on the 1881 but not in Yorkshire.
