What I have is a marriage cert of 1859 of John Cannings (Canneys) and an Elizabeth Goddard. Their son Francis Stephen was born in 1861( I have that birth cert) which gave me the mothers maiden name of Goddard |

I think the birth I found and the 1851 census that Janet found are the same family and Amelia listed as the wife of William in 1851 could be his second wife |

I have a john Cannings on 1901 census so sent for his birth cert. \came back as parents a Francis Stephen Canning and mother Elizabeth formerly Miles. |
