Find Ancestors

I have a john Cannings on 1901 census so sent for his birth cert. \came back as parents a Francis Stephen Canning and mother Elizabeth formerly Miles.
I then sent for cert of Francis Stephen Canning and that came back father John and mother Elizabeth formerly Goddard.
I then sent for their marriage cert and that came back as previously stated

I think the birth I found and the 1851 census that Janet found are the same family and Amelia listed as the wife of William in 1851 could be his second wife

The IGI lists these children as the children of William and Hannah born in Yorkshire and in the 1851 census Janet found Bartholomew and some of the other children are listed as born in Bolton Yorkshire

John full age at marriage.The cert could be Canneys or Cannings. Would you like me to e mail you a copy?

You need to confirm your ancestors in 1911 then 1901 etc.
There appear to be several candidates in 1851.

I am interested to see that the marriage found is recorded as Canneys. Have a look at the 2nd 1851 census I posted - the name canney pops up there too.
Do you have an occupation for William? he is an agricultural labourer on this census. Not too helpful really! And John's approximate year of birth?

Sorry - the couple I found in 1861 - where John was born in Yorkshire

What I have is a marriage cert of 1859 of John Cannings (Canneys) and an Elizabeth Goddard. Their son Francis Stephen was born in 1861( I have that birth cert) which gave me the mothers maiden name of Goddard

IM confused now!!!

What are you saying is correct?

If the 1861 is correct there is this birth in the IGI but I cannot see him in 1841

I have today received a marriage cert of a reli and have the following data
24/4/1859 marriage between John Cannings and Elizabeth Goddard both full age living Bagnor and Dean Wood respectively , Berkshire.
John's father William Cannings and her father Thomas Goddard.
Would someone please look up the families on the 1851 census to see if there is any other info available on the families ie William and Thomas ' spouses names etc.
