So before I do any more let me know if this is the sort of thing you are after, and please reply on here and not by PM as it is easier when you can see the info in front of you in one thread.

Edit...you would be best to delete your other thread now,and we will stick with this one.

Angela pmd me from her other thread on surnames ,which "someone" apparently advised her to put it on "as well"???
And she left a message on the thread so I know she can get back to her threads, all we need now is some feedback and then we can help properly.
She pmd me again just after 11am this morn, but maybe she is at work and can only sneak on sometimes!

By your last pm you now want to start with this.

Grandfather Albert Reed 1922 plus what siblings he had?
Where was he born?

When you say siblings do you mean HIS brothers and sisters ?
Or the children from his first marriage?your mothers half siblings.

Dear all,

thanks you very much for all your help. As Vivianne said I was initially given "dubious" advice and put the same thread in two areas.
Sorry for any confusion this has caused.

As I mentioned earlier we always thought of my mother as an only child, with no family to speak of on her fathers side. It has been a surprise to find Albert was in fact one of several children. Even more of a shock to find that Reed family members had been buried at Llandaff Cathedral in recent years when I found the graves just 2 weeks ago.

I take on board the advice to search in smaller managable chunks. I think my priority would be to find marriages or deaths for Alberts brothers and sisters.

As always all advice and guidance is greatfully received, and is helping to piece together a family / social history of great relevenace.

Kind regards
Angela

So where does "grandfather Albert 1922 fit into the picture? the Albert who had 2 wives was born 1906 or have I lost the plot?

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 6 Aug 2009 14:54

I dont think you have lost the plot Gillian, because I couldnt work that one out either.
So if the grandfather was born in 1906 who IS the 1922 one then ,just a typo mistake on the year??

Vivienne
Many thanks for your kind offer -no, I dont know how to cut and paste, but it does seem to me that that those who do, produce these long streams of info in a form which I find difficult to sort out, never mind a "newbie", and dont incude occupations and birthplaces for ALL the residents.
Its just a personal preference for this purpose to transcribe it direct from the image
But for other purposes it might be useful so if you can spare the time to PM me with the steps I'd be grateful
