Thanks to everyone.
Whilst browsing ancestry tonight I came across a death for Eda Rosbottom 1962 in Blackpool, It wasn't there before. Looks like she never married. The year of birth matches and I found her married sister also dying in Blackpool.
it must be her but looks like I wil have to spend money.
I am sooooooooo pleeeeeeeased.
Cheers everyone
Joan
Never give up.!

Hi Rambling
Yes she did have siblings and I have many certificates BUT NONE with her mentioned except the 1911 and her sisters marriage in 1910..
Other family members who have her on their tree know as much or less than me.
I am the one with the bit between my teeth to find her !!!!!!!

Joan, did Eda have any siblings? if you could trace another famil;y member it might give you a clue ?

Joan Report 20 Oct 2009 15:17

Thanks Gala
I would have thought that Eda would stay as Eda but anything is possible.
Strange there is a marriage in Burnley; coincidentally where Eda lived as a young girl. All assumptions though.

Once again, thanks for the suggestions. I suppose I will have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that she turns up on some certificates.

Hi Joan,
On " lancashireBMD" , I just put Rosbottom on surname and went from the dates 1912 onward but there was no EDA , there was an ADA tho living in Bolton .

sorry Joan, scrap that idea ...I have looked further and found she was travelling with Edward Rosbottom, have found him in 1901 so Louisa was his wife...

There are no other female Rosbottoms of right age on there so maybe not US she went to....

Joan Report 20 Oct 2009 13:02

Hi Rose
Are you suggesting that she went under the name Louisa ? instead of Eda ?

this is on Ellis island

Passenger Residence Arrived Age on Arrival Passenger Record Ship Manifest Ship Image

I've looked up on "lancashireBMD for her marriage & death ....she's not there and it seems like she emigrated ...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
Sorry I didn't stay around long after posing my dilemma but I was falling asleep at the pc and I had to be up at 6 for a long shift at work.today.

Sylvia. Hi. I have looked at the trees on Ancestry and we all have the same problem in finding her. This has become my mission; hence my board name.

Thanks T in Middlesex. I had hoped that she had emigrated and put a bit of colour into the family.

Cynthia, Thanks. The others on this site with her name haven't pursued Eda beyond 1901.

Suppose I will have to wait.
To all of you, much appreciated
Joan

and no record of any event for Eda Ro*bottom from 1911 to ca 1935.

Hi. Have you checked Search Trees on here? There are several other folk who have this lady in their tree and it may be worth contacting them if you have not already done so.

Hi..

Looked for immigration and no result for her. Ancestry have yet to update on death transcription so she may have died after 1915 (1915 is the cut off date for Ancestry before 1984 at the moment)
