I am trying to find the birth of my husbands grandfather .His name was Harry Lawson and was born 1893 and died in Dover Kent in 1961, it is his birth place we are not sure of .

is the information you are giving from his marriage cert where was he married

I'm afraid it doesn't ring any bells so far ,yes the info is from Harrys marriage cert to Dorothy May Marsh in Dover

He was also previously married to Annie Sophie Gill but he was widowed and re married

Harry's occupation was Bricklayers labourer

Dont have both marriage certs just his last one but just noticed the witness were Joseph Graham and Edith L Mallary

Christina, might be worth getting first cert - a bit of a long shot but might be family witnesses, and as Jonesey says you can double-check details re, father.

I was unde the impression they all came fom England but it is possible I have learnt not to take things for granted in FH.

I have tried to find William H's birth in Scotland, nothing in Aberdeen with inital H. .
