Yes Tony, that would be them.
Sorry I left out the R in Graytown.
Most were buried in Benalla ot Greta, so dunno why they got over near Nagambie.
John was a storekeeper.
So now to go backwards with all your information!
I had a great success with my mothers side, Patricia has taken way back to Ireland. My mum would have been proud of her background, I wish she was still alive to tell her.
Will keep on researching, thanks for your help this far.

Hi Sherran.
I dont know of a Gaytown cemetery in Vic.? So i imagine you mean "Graytown"
Now an old Ghost town, with just a few remaining slabs of concrete and debris lying about. I have been there, as i had an interest in old Ghost towns of Victoria once upon a time, and also had an interest in a resident who once lived there in the 1870s. Elizabeth Barnes
I also have an old surveyors map of the area. ( street map ) showing blocks of land and owners.
Its not far from Nagambie and an old P.O.W camp. The cemetery itself is hidden, as for reasons you say. It was uncared for. There is a web site showing some burials ( but not all ) You may have already seen it. http://home.vicnet.net.au/~dpsoc/graycem.htm
I also noticed a residence listing
Residents of Spring Creek / Graytown 1869-1877
BLADES, Elizabeth Married Woman 1869 BLADES, John Sellers Storekeeper 1869
Cheers.

Thanks Tony.
John Sellers Blades, must be the son of - Francis Sellers.
is buried at Gaytown cemetery near Tatong, Vic, but Ive heard it's hidden as vandals were getting in there, so therefore need to ask someone to take you there. I'm not sure now the full story of the cemetery, but do remember reading that.
I know our Kennedy/Sheddy side came from Lancefield My grandfather was born there and the family live in Broadford, not far from Euroa really??
This will be ab interesting line to find, as I knew very little about them.

Regarding Kevin Sheedy.
No, i dont know his Family history line. I do know he is 62 years of age, and also a Family history buff, so they say. I also read his maternal grandfather was a Michael Cusack from Euroa in Victoria, and folk lore says that Michael Cusack was a lad who saw the Kelly's ( Ned Kelly and co. ) ride into town to hold up a bank.
Snippet from a newspaper:
Sheedy’s maternal grandfather, Michael Cusack, was the first person to see the Kelly Gang on their way to rob the bank at Euroa.
Cusack, who was only a boy at the time, was trying to catch water rats in Faithfull’s Creek on the outskirts of Euroa when he saw the four gang members – Ned Kelly, his younger brother Dan, Joe Byrne and Steve Hart – ride by. The Kellys, with £500 pounds on each of their heads after killing three plain-clothes police just six weeks earlier, held 22 people hostage at a nearby sheepstation, which they used as a base for the £2260 bank heist. December 8 this year will mark the 125th anniversary of the sighting.
Sheedy, a history buff himself, told the AFL Record: “That’s the story that’s been passed down through the family… and I’m sticking to it.”
Sorry, cant help you there any further.
Tony.

.John Sellers Blades died in Benalla Victoria in 1911 aged 84 ( parents Unknown ) reg: 3871 ( Gives a birth circ 1828 ) To sumerise....Just my thoughts...:>))
There were 3 John Blades listed on Tassie archives.
One was ( John Sharp Blades - convict ) one of three brothers of Francis and Abel..
Two was ( John Blades - convict ) that arrived on the ship : "China ".....married.... ROBLEY Sophia 26 FEB 1855 ..had 12 kids and settled in Tasmania.
Three was John Blades arriving in Tasmania 1851 and then Melbourne as a "Free man" and my gut feeling tells me he was John sellers Blades son of John Sharp Blades ( convict ) and Frances Sellers......and followed his father out here perhaps.
I am of course having a stab in the dark.....lol
Hope that confirms what info you have

From the I.G.I ( extracted entries ) John S. Blades
JOHN SHARPE BLADES Marriages: Spouse: FRANCES SELLERS Marriage: 23 AUG 1830 Saint Michael, Stamford, Lincoln, England You were saying John Sellers BLADES probably took the "Sellers" from his first wife? Is it possible that convict John S. Blades was John Sharp Blades. I noticed that John Sharp Blades and Frances Sellers had a son John sellers Blades Christening: 20 APR 1831 Saint George, Stamford, Lincoln, England......and Sarah Blades Christening: 26 AUG 1831 Saint George, Stamford, Lincoln, England.....possibly the two children left behind in England to his wife Frances Sellers...on his convict report.
There is also a John Blades that arrived ( as a free man ) to Tassie, and can be seen departing Launceston for Melbourne on the ship: "Shamrock"..18 Dec 1851 This John also arrived to Tas on the Shamrock. Wondering if this is John sellers Blades who came to Tasmania.....son of John Sharp Blades?

Thanks Tony,
What was the description of the other John Blades?
Although I heard he might been caught for Cattle duffing, so being a butcher sounds like it might be a connection.
I know exactly what he looked like in his older years (my uncle was the image of him)
But to be as precise as your description is bit harder for me.
He would have been short in stature so 5' 3" would fit. My Uncle's hair went white, so that fits.
I think he did have blue eyes. Typical Irish looking man. in fact the singers, Foster and Allen, thought my uncle had come out from Ireland, said he so looked Irish, John Sellers looked the same.
On the Accessory site, you can search John Blades, under trees and John Sellers comes up with a photo, that photo was ours, that chap from Tassie must have copied it. I remember it well, because we always thought it was Uncle Pat and Grandma, but in fact it was John Sellers and Mary Ryan Blades. I think he took "Sellers" from his first wife, but not sure, as she was named Sellers (don't remember where I found that?)
Unfortunately I haven't been able to get hold of the photos to copy them...yet!
Thanks again for your help.

A surprise! wouldn't have thought that.
John Sellers was in Port Arthur, I am trying to find the link.
Also, we always thought the Sheedy side was linked to the Richmond Htel in Melb??? (funny enough Kevin Sheedy resembles my brother in some ways, and am wondering if there is a link?.
And trying to trace John Kennedy's family, before Broadford and Lancefield. Appreciate any help you can give, thanks so much you have been fantastic!!

John KENNEDY married Anne SHEEDY registered in Victoria 1858.

Not sure about this one, as mother is isted as Nancy....but....Nancy can be another given name for Anne/Ann
KENNEDY, Catherine CB 1091126 Birth Father: John Mother: Sheedy Nancy Event Place: Richmond ( Melbourne ) Reg Year: 1858 Reg State: Victoria Ref Number: 10905
The Surname KENNEDY & SHEEDY in Australia, is equivelent to SMITH & JONES......and to find a possible death for John and Anne KENNEDY ( maiden SHEEDY ) you would have to know their parents names. It may be of benefit to purchase their marriage cert. as to "hopefully" obtain their birth place, and parents names. ( most likely Irish...i would hazard a guess )
Marriage certs can be ordered on-line for Victoria, and downloaded to your computer using the Ref No.
