i have just got my gr nans marrage cert so i could get her dads name i now have his name but still can not find birth records for my nan my nan was rose may jacobs born 1920 london and her dad was alfred william jacobs born 1874 why cant i find her birth info can someone please help me

alfred was a bookginder and rose died may 1999 in kings lynn and and we were alway told her and her 7 sibling where all born in london bethnal green it was

some one looked up roses oldest brother and got me there dates of birth but still could not find roses birth its like she just poped up from no where

all them names fit her sibling apart from the emma

There are NO births for Jacobs with Mothers maiden surname Hicks in the period 1915-1925
This leads me to suspect that Rose May could be the granddaughter of Alfred and Amelia rather than the daughter (ie the illegitimate daughter of one of the daughters of Alfred and Amelia -Ellen or Margaret?) but accepted by the grandparents for reasons of respectability as frequently happened in those days
If this is so the birth with Jacobs as MMS would be my bet

if she was one of the girls child or taken in by the family would i ever be able to find out

would i be able to find out if rose was alfreds daughter but if amelia was not her mum the last name turner keep poping up
