Thanks for replying, Ah! yes! a lot of that begatting in fornication seemed to happen then! Not a bit like nowadays (she laughs)!!

So Angus may have been living elsewhere in 1841 and Margaret's surname was really McDonald then and not using her maiden surname because she was widowed.

When you have time have a look on Freecen for Angus Grant in 1841. Don't select a birthplace or cenus area, Not that many come up and some of those can be eliminated because of age.
