STANDISH Thomas F NIXON Mary Toxteth Park, Holy Trinity Liverpool 2104TP/1/454

It looks as though it was Holy Trinity but I suspect you already know that :) Are you local to Liverpool record office? They may have the marriage on microfilm to save you buying a certificate. As already suggested, it should give the father's names and occupations.

how good it would be if posters hung around for five minutes or so - and even managed to say "please"

call me grumpy but there are so many postings tonight which are just nothing short of a question or a demand in some cases

To be honest Ann, I don't really care that they don't as I had internet problems myself this morning and was grateful that people continued to reply anyway.

Life isn't always that easy, when you're caring for people/elderly/children/ even pets you get called away or you can even be distracted by another thread. Sometimes it may be as simple as feeling tired and needing to go to bed.

David, if you're not local to Liverpool. Send me a pm and I'll see what I can do in finding the marriage if you haven't already got the cert. If Holy Trinity is on Microfilm, I'm hoping it won't take to long to look through that quarter. Hopefully, it will provide some clues for you :)

Just remind of the details on the pm. :)

lol Ann, I just tend to identify with the people posting on here. Sometimes finding an uninterrupted minute to yourself is hard. Sometimes I'm very easily distracted and find myself on another thread.

jax

jax Report 24 Apr 2010 23:32

There is a mary b.1859 living with grandparents called Holliday so marriage could be right in 1861 census
EDIT now I have seen another one that could be her so marriage cert would be a good idea
