Hi! Rootgatherer,
Thanks for that, I must be stupid I did not even think of a remarriage even though she would be in her late 20s early 30s.Seemingly Thomas kept the Carswell name also William the youngest child but of Mary I do not know. it was in my mind that she possibly emigrated with the Corrie family or the Carswells who went to Canada.

Isobels parents were Richard Corrie b 1780 d 30/9/1850 farmer Killywhen then Knocklae Balmaclellan finally Maxwelltown Irongray m Mary Afflec Caven b 1776 d 5/12/1860 at Summerhill Balmaclellan both interred Terregles.
12 children Adam, Margaret Caven, John, Nathaniel, Richard, Douglas, Alexander, Isobel Black, Thomas, James, Anne and Mary.
Richard Corrie b 1780 son of Adam Corrie b 1749 d 30/1/1825 farmer lawston Lochrutten m Isobel(la) Black b 1749 d 6/10/1819 both buried Terregles. 4 childrenRichard, Isobel, Janet and Thomas.

Thanks for the info I already have details of the Carswell family except what happened to my gt gt grandmother Isobel nee Corrie, I found her birth date on a Corrie website. What I need is what happened to her and Thomas, Mary and Wiliam ie where she is buried and other info on her life after she was widowed,also where Thomas and Mary went and where they are buried, as for William any info between 1845 and 1869 when he m my gt grandmother Mary Hodgson.
