george you and flick are probably right about the memorial my nan had alzheimers for 9 years so some of the info she could of given me could be muddled as the info sounds right even the year of death

Other than the WW2 death that Flick found there are no other deaths in WW2 for a John Dobbie, and that includes civilians, listed on the CWGC site
So not sure if he would be named on a memorial in London, unlikeley i would have thought.

no mctigue was her maiden name baker was her married name, she was abandoned by her husband

No births for Dobbie/Baker - so, unless Baker was not her maiden name, they didn't marry

EDIT - No marriage for Dobbie/Baker - the first wife was probably abandoned, as if she'd died there would have been no obstacle to a marriage

this is my nans dad john dobbie as i said before he was married before he was with my nans mum, i only knew of son john from my nan but i was told the recently about another 2 lilly and maggie. i dont know what happened if his first wife died or divorced but he had my nan to a norah baker in nov 1928 they had three children together he died around 1939 1940 sorry if im confusing you!
