NOw that is interesting Maureen as the family were 'held as Aliens' when they got to New York. I wonder if that was common, or becuase Thomas has TB? I only found this out yesterday in the library when I was searching on ancestry. Ancestry also showed that Ethel returned to Middlesbrough in the 1930s but I can't see when she left to return to the USA. Also, the brother that stayed in Middlesbrough died in his 60s; Ethel and her brother in the USA died in the 80s/90s! Perhaps she was a healthy woman! |

Yes that is also her in 1881; although I can't find her after this! The family cannot be found in 1891 and by 1901, Elizabeth has 'left home'. |
