I am sorry but my poorly worded posting pointed you to the wrong person.

It is Sarah Redgewell's birthplace and year that I need and have failed to find.

I think that's the one I posted earlier..just it's down as Elizabeth Sarah

I have been trying to establish the marriage of Peter & Sarah without success.

They had a daughter Sarah Elizabeth in 1808 in Sudbury.

I would also like to establish her birthplace and year - again no success. There are suggestions she was not born in Suffolk (Also Essex), but I think this unlikely.

Any help appreciated.

Well I guess in those days they didn't hang around when getting remarried if the husband had young children....!

I would still like to 'kill' off Sarah Nicholls, in the timeframe before Peter marries his second wife Mary Ann Henniker. Any thoughts.

I should clarify my comment that the 1851 Census shows William as 'son of Peter & Sarah' It shows Peter as head of family, Mary as his wife (aged 49), William as son (aged 35) and 2 daughters. William could not, therefore, be the son of Mary.

Peter was born in Sudbury, was a bargebuilder and moved to Southwark with his wife, Sarah, and had another son Thomas. The 1851 census shows Peter as born Sudbury, occupation Barge Builder. I cannot think their are two people with the same info, so Peter is the same person and married twice.

I have traced Peter Nicholls on Census 1841, 1851 and 1861 Census. He is married to Mary Ann Hennicker in 1825 and has more children over the following years.

On the 1851 Census William is shown - son of Peter & Sarah.

The from Mel is correct.

Ann of Green Gable's info relates to another line of the Nicholls family

Bap of Thomas on Ancestry says Peter his father was a Barge Builder.

Born 29th March and baptised 22 Oct.
