Well it now seems pointless reporting any post I even gave an explaination why plus a link to the other thread where help had been given and GR have reinstated it.

Makes me look a right fool now after admitting to reporting then its still there.

It sure is'nt worth it Cyn...I only reported it because it was a duplicate and she had replies on the other one plus I did'nt think mentioning the man who could be living had been in and out of prison was a good idea.

Obviously it does'nt matter

Sometimes I am awake until 5 in the morning and other times I could drop off asleep not long after midnight with laptop on me :-)

As far as reporting threads is concerned I think that perhaps it is best to belong to the "Live and let live" brigade.

As much as I believe in peoples right to privacy it appears to me that unless it is your own privacy that is being breached it is probably best to ignore it.

With regard to duplicated posts I know that duplicated posts can cause frustration due to duplication of effort. I think however that to report them as abuse is probably a bit over the top. By all means add a post indicating that the original post of the thread is a duplicate and include a link to the duplicate. That action alone hopefully should be enough to prevent any further duplication of effort by others.

At the end of the day the ultimate responsibility for what appears and is allowed to remain displayed on Genes Reunited's message boards rests firmly with Genes Reunited's management, not with its individual members. It looks as if Genes Reunited's management are currently considering taking steps to accept that responsibility by introducing some formal moderation of its message boards. For the sake of harmony and goodwill let us hope that GR implement their plans quickly and effectively.

Well it has been reported again.....this time not by me.

I am not in the habit of reporting unless there is a very good reason...like they have already got many threads asking the same thing which has been answered as far as it is possable.

For someone to say the could not delete before it was reported who has posted over 3000 times...............just makes me wonder :-)

Now I wish I had not admitted to reporting something...

I am not the person reporting willy nilly...I have reported three and the other two you would not have seen because they were not posted until the early hours.

Anyway GR is getting on my t@ts membership is up next week they will not be able to take any money as card has changed and if they want me to me to fanny about sending emails they can stuff it

When did they post that? I must have missed it, mind you I don't visit the FB GR page that often.

Unless I am dreaming I thought that Phil Moir had commented on one of the "Suggestions" threads saying that board moderation, possibly by selected GR members, might be an idea worth considering. I do however realise that when Phil responds to a post on GR he is expressing a personal opinion which is not necessarily his employers view.

Mind you as GR staff obviously monitor the FB GR page (They are often to be seen making a comment in response to someone's post) it seems odd that they do not monitor their own message boards and if necessary remove posts that breach their own sites rules.
