Morning all, hope you are well. Horrible, wet and muggy here. I hate HUMIDITY!

I know they added the sad emoticon and the heart but that is all I think.

How sad Cynthia, makes you wonder how many people there are that are isolated and noone to care for them. OH and I used to foster children, until I did that I never realised how many people have no family or friends to help out when life doesn't go to plan.

I'm not even going to be taking Tamoxifen!

I got a phone call about 6 pm on Tuesday evening, from the doctor I saw on Monday.

Because of the very low risk that I've got, he had consulted with an oncologist. The oncologist thought my risk rate was close to 5%, rather than the 10% Voduc had been working on when making his suggestions.

Oncologist then worked out that I would get 1-2% benefit from taking tamoxifen, balanced against a 1% increased risk of blood clot and 1% increased risk of uterine cancer ..... plus the hot flashes.

Basically the risks are almost outweighing the benefit in my case.

Both of them decided that they would be comfortable if I decided not to take tamoxifen.

So that is what I have decided.

Apparently I can return the free 3 month supply of tamoxifen back to the Cancer Agency pharmacy, so long as the packets are unopened. I still have an appointment with the radiologist in 3 months time, which can be cancelled.

My treatment now is 6 monthly physical examination by my GP.

Dea,

I have been to fitness and did very well... I hope you haven't slipped on your banana peel or cabbage leaf.

Tell you what

I will make some Spinach and Feta muffins with olives in them as well..
Corn bread and sliced tomato with basil.
Cheese and Chutney sandwiches

Bacon butties for you Dea and some sauteed potatoes.

And some poached eggs and baked beans...

If Cyns turns up there is toast bread there with Lime marmalade and cape gooseberry jam and rhubarb jelly.

Geez sorry for all the clatter banging, someone hadn't done the washing up yesterday and the kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it.... cling film and cabbage leaves everywhere.

Persie xx

Great news Sylvs I am so pleased that you don't need Tamoxifen...

Dea

Dea Report 9 Nov 2011 08:49

Never mind Persie - 2 breakfasts are always better that 1 <3 <3 <3

I quite fancy a cheese and chutney sandwich - haven't had one of those for ages :-D

Read back through the messages now - Brilliant news Sylvia <3 <3 <3

We rang the internet provider just as it came back on - He was surprised because he said that the estimated time for the repair was not until 4.30 this afternoon so it 'may' go on and off again for the rest of the day :-(

I hope it doesn't as I get withdrawal symptoms :-(

Anyway, I have to go and read the 18 e-mails which came in when I got reconnected - probably all rubbish but you have to read them don't you?

See you in a bit.

Dea Report 9 Nov 2011 09:14

Oh sorry Ginns about the cheeses - I forgot about the rennet :-(

Good job I made crisps with it and didn't sprinkle it all over the risotto :-0

Cynthia Report 9 Nov 2011 18:10

Oh well.

Rearranged my day because of the expected cut off of electricity.......guess what? It didn't go off after all! So why did they send the letters out then?

Went to Tesco this morning and then, when I was getting ready to go out this afternoon, I realised my debit card was missing. Er...slight panic.

I had only been to T's so I assumed it was there somewhere. Rushed back to customer service who were not particularly interested - just sort of shrugged and said it hadn't been handed in. I mentioned about the till I was on and went to have a look. There it was........still in the card wotsit! The till hadn't been used since I was there and no one had noticed it!.. Panic over.

Took my friend back to her house and made up her bed for her. She did the pillowcases herself. She is hoping to go home in a very short space of time and is getting quite good on the stair lift :-D

Time to put my feet up now........bet Fans is having fun

:-D

Gee

Gee Report 9 Nov 2011 18:27

Ive done that twice before Cyns, left the card in the machine........I went all hot and bovered!

I got one back and the other, had to cancel the card and wait for a new one.....JB lent me one of his ;-)

When is your friend going home, must be soon if you are making up the bed :-D

Dea

Dea Report 9 Nov 2011 18:46

I found one in the machine the other day - I saw the lady who left it but couldn't find her in the carpark!

Handed it in to the supermarket so I hope it got back to her !!
