I'm walking away from that thread as well
and I've posted to tell her so, and why!
"I don't need links to my own virtual discussions" indeed ! :-P
It would be rude and insulting no matter whether she thought she was dealing with employees or volunteers!

not only did OH leave some of 'em lying around ......
.................. others of 'em joined the alien spaceship for periods of time :-D
Not only that, but they used the same forenames from generation to generation, AND for cousins etc
You'd think a name like Christopher Hayhurst son of Cuthbert(us) would be somewhat unusual, wouldn't you?
Nah!
........... and then they decided to spell it Hairst back when
There's loads of information on the web ................ because a Cuthbert was on the second fleet to Pennsylvania, with the Quakers under William Penn. He went on the Lamb in 1682, died in 1683 (6 months after arriving), and for some reason I haven't found ................. most of his family were later excommunicated.
The Americans have followed this line indefatigably .............. all the way back to England and back to the 1500s. They have wills, etc etc
OH's family are possibly/probably connected to this Cuthbert. Not only from the same area, and same religious connections, but the same forenames used over and over again. But it is all back before 1680, and none of the Americans have done any investigations of siblings of their Cuthbert ................... and, of course, there are no trustworthy records.
To add to the problem, there seem to have been TWO families of Hayhursts in northern England from about 1700 onwards.
Both have the names Cuthbert, Christopher, William and Robert occurring from generation to generation.
Both families are corn millers and farmers
Both live in Lancashire and Westmorland ................... and both move back and forth between the 2 counties, marrying in one and dying in the other, working in one then in the other, etc etc.
Both occupy the same bl****y corn mills at varying times, even taking over from each other on occasion.
There has to be a connection ...... but I cannot find it ...... there aren't really the records for the 16th century to 1841
The Hayhursts do all seem to have been Quakers, or Quaker-connected ........... and as such subject to harassment. This probably accounts for the moving between Lancashire and Westmorland (and later Yorkshire).
I have OH's family sorted out back to about 1800 .................. but before then it's all guesswork, and trying to find parish records.

Had a late night at work today and a nightmare journey home.
I was somewhat annoyed with that poster Sylvia since there were inconsistencies in the thread and the roots chat post.and I spent a long time searching. But I will not let it worry me. I can just walk away.

OH is being given recognition by a professional organization he helped to start about 30 years ago.
We're going to drive for about 2 days, almost to the Alberta border and the Rockies
He'll attend the Annual Meeting of the group, and we will both go to the Dinner in the evening.
Then leave the next day, for the 2 day drive back home :-D :-D
It should be fun.
we will literally go "back in time"
It is very late spring here ......... the place we are going to will only be at the stage of very early spring!
It depends on how much snow cover they've had, and how warm the temperatures have been.
I'm going to bed now
night night xxx

Thank you for breakfast Sylvs........scrummy!
Enjoy your trip.....
some people are never at home...........sheesh..... ;-)
Have got the assessment on OH today - arriving here between 1 and 5. Not sure what to expect but will deal with it as and when.
The problem is, the new tabs have really helped him to keep mobile for longer - so we do what we can when they have kicked in. When he is due for them, however, he can slow right down again and it's back to the shuffling around........sigh. If they arrive when the meds have kicked in, I hope they don't think we're fibbing or anything.....would never do that.. :-(

I am sure the assessment will go well Cynths.
They must be used to people being O.K. with the meds working and then slowing down as they wear off.

Hope all is well and that all the other halves improve and get better...this thread has become very medical...
Linda I go with my OH when he goes to the hospital.. he went to the respiratory clinic the other week and had to take his snoring machine.. they gave him a different one so they could run a test print out from it and then wanted to keep his ... no way he owns his paid a price for it... but now he no longer works he is a freebie
Now we always go up one floor to this clinic we have been there several times ( I have also been there on my own with my asthma breathing). Last week he heads off before me, I thought where is he going and he enters the orthopaedic area and heads up to the counter and looks around kinda lost.. I call out from the doorway to him. He comes back and realising he is in wrong place he says does this look the same as the one upstairs.. it is nothing like it. I said nope this is where we went when I broke my foot which was a few years ago now.
He takes me to the osteopath but that is because my left shoulder pain is preventing me from driving and we only drive manual vehicles as well.
Margee my grandma Margaret Turnbull died before I was born. Her first nine grandchildren knew her but then the next five including me we were practically a generation later.
Persie who will try and do meals next week..
