Oh dear...........

This morning I had the water board engineers call out to investigate a drain leak onto our patio

They followed me through the garage to the back and then I left them to it

I got back in and sat on the sofa and felt/heard something. I thought I must have sat on the remote or my reading glasses.....nope

Later after they had left, the same thing happened again and it was then that I realised..........my combats had split BIG style

I just hope they were in tact when I saw them through to the back :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Still REALLY windy here and really nasty and wet - it looks like we are in for another night of gales !!

Yes Linds - we ARE having fun with the grandchildren, even though they are very tiring !!

Yesterday my little grandson went on the computer and printed out a whole page of very large numbers - he was doing his 'secret number code' ;-) He then photocopied it in my machine as he always likes 2 copies (we go through an awful lot of ink cartridges !)

He is extremely good at 'mental maths' but does have problems writing his numbers down as he often writes them backwards so when I saw this I said to him "**** that is SO good - everyone of those numbers is the right way round" !!!
It was only when his sister chuckled that he realised that he couldn't have got them the wrong way round on the Computer !

He then took ithe pages downstairs and got out the scissors from the craft box as he is very independent and likes to do everything for himself and started to cut the numbers out BUT then he went in to 'grandad' and said "Grandad, will you come and watch me cutting as daddy says that I shouldn't use scissors unless I am being watched by someone" - What could you do but oblige ?? :-D :-D

He is a lovely little boy but is usually 'an accident waiting to happen' and he tries SO hard to be good (most of the time !)

I know that you say that you don't want any grandchildren Ginns but they do bring you so many lovely moments to cherish.

P.S. - Grand-daughter amazed me too - she has long ago stopped believing in Santa but when she lost another 'wobbly tooth' the other day she actually wrote a letter to the' tooth fairy' asking her name and all about where she lived and what things she liked etc. - I couldn't believe it ............

She actually showed me the reply she got and as it was in such small fairy writing she read it out to me with a great big happy smile on her face.

Gins Hope you had your Bridget Jones pant on and not your G-string :-D :-D :-D

Wasn't it draughty ;-)

Had a busy day. Washing machine engineer was due out this morning. He has ordered new drum and heaven knows what else.

Can take up to l2 weeks and have been told not to use it :-(

4 adults no washing machine for 2 weeks aargh

I got a "friend" request on FB a couple of days ago.

It was a friend who I haven't seen for about 6 years (get a card at xmas)

We were on chat for ages on Sunday night. She was getting her hair done in town today so came to mine for coffee.

We picked up as if we had only seen each other last week. Fab afternoon and we will meet up again soon.

Then I had to rush to shops to get my friend (DIL's) Mum a birthday present.

Went to see her and she has the girls today so more fun

Now after I have dinner I am having a lazy night might do some knitting :-)

I will have some of that lovely quiche for lunch thank you.

I have about an hour before we have to collect O from nursery :-)

Not sure what we will do this afternoon as it isn't nice enough to go to the park.

Might make some bracelets and do some baking.

Linda

Linda Report 22 Oct 2014 18:49

Gins luckily I had just changed all the beds and done a dark load of washing.

Will need to do a white load either tomorrow or Friday.

F (No 1 sons partner) has said I have to take it to hers and he can do it as he is staying there till they get the keys for the house in 2 weeks :-)

Hope it doesn't take 2 weeks :-(

I got some lovely buttons on Ebay today for the girls cardigans great prices saved a fortune. :-D

Gee

Hi everyone :-)

Had a busy day No 1 son been back to GP no change. He took 2 loads of washing away with him :-)

We have done the weekly shop and picked up the washing which I now have to dry and it is still raining horrible day here

OH is going to his mates to watch football so hopefully I should have a couple of hours peace and quiet ;-)

I felt a bit emotional yesterday more so than I usually do on the anniversary.

I think it was because we had the girls and I knew how much Mum would have loved them. It brought it closer somehow. :-( <3

Dea

Dea Report 24 Oct 2014 07:11

Hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet Linds and that 'sadness' is fading a little. <3 <3 <3

Time for a quick breakfast - creamy mushrooms on toast.

Then I have to get ready again...............

See you all later,
