I have recently been tracing this part of my family and have got quite far back. However, I have been trying to fill in some details on my ancestor's siblings rather that just having a name with a rough date of birth. Henry Edward Wakeling (my 4x great uncle) was born in March 1/4 1881 Medway, Chatham, Kent. I know that he was a Major in the Royal Artillery and later ownded a hotel in Aberystwyth. I have been unable to find him on the 1901 census sop I am assuming he was sent abroad, but I have no idea where or how to find out. If anyone has access to the 1911 census would they be kind enough to have a look and see if he is back in Britain or not. Thanks for your help in advance. |

My other Wakeling thread was about Edward James Wakeling, who is my direct ancestor. Henry Edward is Edward James's son and I am just trying to fill in more information about him as he was in the Royal Artillery and my father is quite interested in the family's military history. Sorry for any confusion I have caused. |

Henry Wakeling is actually my 3x great uncle and his father Edward is my 3x great grandfather. I have Edward's military records I am just looking for more information on his son Henry. Where he was in 1901 and 1911 (if anyone has access to 1911 census that is). Sorry for the mistake and any confusion it caused. |

I know he married as a relative has a photo of him and his wife and family in front of their hotel, we just don't know the wife's name. |

His name is mentioned in the 1911 census as being in overseas Military, I cannot see the actual image as I do not have any credits. Irene |

Thanks for that Choccy. It's interesting that he was in the Royal horse artillery as his brother Ashley was also in that regiment. Perhaps they signed up together. Thanks for all your help, I just wanted to know where Henry was in 1901 and 11. |
