I am just trying to have another look at the info I have on my Nans side of the family. It is family history I am after really.
My Great nans name was Elizabeth Mary Pridgeon,born 15 March 1885. fathers name is RICHARD PRIDGEON mothers name Frances Ann (late Broad and formerley ELLIS)
Siblings of Elizabeths are HENRY, WILLIAM and CHARLOTTE.
Looking forward to any information however little.
Possibly all born in Kentish Town.

I am hoping to make a link with someone connected to Elizabeths siblings.
I can not ever remember meeting family of my Ggrandmothers neither can my dad.

Only birth I can see for Milton but her name is Frances Lydia not Ann ???

Thankyou again! I see on this ref. Pridgeon is spelt Pridgean is this a common mistake? How exciting, on Elizabeths birth cert. the address says 31Jeffreys street Pancras?

As there never has been a standardised spelling of names anything is possible when it comes to names being recorded by others. It is worth remembering that a large part of the population were illiterate right up until the end of the 19th century. Records about people would be made by registrars, church ministers and census enumerators. If you were illiterate then you were not in a position to question what was being written or how it was being spelled.

On the 1881 transcript the name is written Pridgson, someone has simply mistaken an e for an s.
Happens all the time.

Yes this is my Great nan.
The reason for me asking the question about Frank Hayes was because there wasn't a Fathers name on her daughter (my nans) birth cert. but on my nans marriage cert, fathers name was written as Frank Hayes? thats where my confusion is. The only family I have to ask dont know anything so I was hoping to 'solve' the puzzle.
