could someone please help me i have a john hutchinson 1794-1872, born in kirkby stephen, i am trying to find out who his wife was on the 1871 census she is down as a margaret age 78,
johns occupation was a carpenter, i know that he had a son in c1815 called william hutchinson as he was my 2x grt grandad, i would like to find out his date of marriage and what other children he had any help would be very much appreciated

John Hutchinson born 1789 Hartley Kirby Stephen carpenter dad thomas.
John married jane Parkinson 13/11/1814 Kirby stephens had following children.
William 1815
Thomas 1818
Eleanor 1819 married Charles Kitchen in Rochdale 1844 he died 1850.
She is on a census with John and Margaret Hutchinson
Agnes 1821-1900
Thomas 1823.

I have found this death in right area.
Jane Hutchinson O/N/D 1837.

So John could have then married Margaret.

thank you so much for the info, i found eleanor kitchen m/s hutchinson last nite and i also found agnes hutchinson, she married a richard slee, so the tree on ancestry must be the same family, everything fits apart from john hutchinsons d.o.b as on the 1871 census i have him down as age 77? which would make his d.o.b c1794,
what do you think as am rather puzzled?

Hi Melody,I wouldn't make too much of the age difference.They often changed through the census's.
I would say they are one in the same person.

am looking for thomas hutchinson c1823 kirkby stephen in the 1851c 1861c and 1871c i think i have found him in the 1881 census if i have the right 1, but cant find the family in the other censuses

he is down as age 58 in 1881 census occupation auctioneer
