Trying to find the birth, marriage and death of Henry Wedd who was the father of "my" Henry Wedd who was born in 1858 (where he was born is unknown, his age ascertained from Census and marriage certificate).

Based on the 1858 Henry, I'm guessing the Henry I'm looking for was born around 1830, give or take a couple of years. The Wedd family lived in Islington, but I don't know if they were born in London. There are lots of Wedds in London through the censuses, but none seem to match the information I have.

"My" Henry married Martha Dean on April 3rd 1886 in Bethnal Green, and he died following a fall in 1927. He was a builders labourer, and on the marriage certificate his father's name is given as Henry and he too was a labourer, and that's as far as I've got despite many sessions trawling BMD and Censuses.

Apart from trawling through thousands of Woods, Wades etc., any other suggestions, or better still, any other descendants?

Found him in 1911 census - born in 1859 in Enfield, Middx., but still can't find any trace of his father Henry.

The Henry Wedd I am looking for was a labourer, and was at his son's marriage in 1886, so none of the above matches, but thanks for the info.

Thank you all so much, between you you have given me some more info to dig in to. The death of a Henry Arthur Wedd in Croydon in 1889 could well be significant, as it is "my" Henry who is a boarder in Croydon in the 1901 census.

The children of Henry & Martha that I knew of were Annie (died as a baby), Isabella (my mother in law!), George, Stanley & Florence (twins, Florence died as baby), Caroline, Henry and Mabel (died as a baby). I didn't know about Albert Edward or James, so will check these out.
