Incredible coincidence - I sent for the death certificate of Henry Arthur Wedd in Croydon in 1889 in the hope that it would be "my" Henry's father. Sadly, it was not, but the weirdest thing - Henry died in May 1889 from a fractured skull following a fall. "My" Henry died in 1927 from a fractured skull following a fall! |

Thank you all so much, between you you have given me some more info to dig in to. The death of a Henry Arthur Wedd in Croydon in 1889 could well be significant, as it is "my" Henry who is a boarder in Croydon in the 1901 census. |

The Henry Wedd I am looking for was a labourer, and was at his son's marriage in 1886, so none of the above matches, but thanks for the info. |

Found him in 1911 census - born in 1859 in Enfield, Middx., but still can't find any trace of his father Henry. |
