Thanks Sylvia. I have this information but I can't find anything about Gertrude's marriage. She was one of the daughter's of John Snowdon and Jessie Catherine Donaldson. I don't have subscriptions to any US sites.

I'm still trying to find the marriage of Gertrude Snowdon/Snowden in US, if anyone has access to US marriages or censuses.

I also saw a Google ref from a Bert Snowdon to some old papers (1934) written by Arthur E. Stevens of Keynsham, Somerset of the Snowdon portion of his pedigree. The ref said the Snowdons left the Temperance Hotel 2 Feb 1934 after 77 years. I'm trying to find out more about the Snowdons in Melmerby, Cumberland. Does anyone know how I can find out more about this?

I've been working on the info you all kindly gave me about Gertrude Snowdon. Working on the trip she made to the USA in 1903 I've tried to find her marriage but had no success. I did mention in an earlier thread that she had a daughter, Gertrude, but I've since found out that that daughter belonged to another sibling but she did have a daughter called Trixie. Does anyone have access to US marriages or census?

Sorry, I didn't see the last two replies to my thread. The wedding in 1904 (22 Aug) was John Farrer and Catherine Emily Snowdon, and the one in 1908 was Joseph Mills Griffiths and Josephine Snowdon (don't have the actual date).

i logged onto ancestry.co.uk & typed in gertrude snowdon & it gives all possibles & halfwy down it says new york passenger list 1820-1857 click on that & shes the only one

The birth is correct. She was definitely born in W. Derby to parents John Snowden and Jessie Catherine Donaldson.

The baptism is correct for her but I don't think the Kentucky one is - unless the birth was in Liverpool.
