Was she a widow by then? Doesn't narrow it down much, but still. If you have an address (or two!) you might be able to look on the electoral registers and see if Ethel is there with or without John. The success of this would depend on them staying put though. |

Hi Flick, Don't think thats the correct death as he was born 1897 - so by 1926 for this record he would have been 29!! |

Why, if you knew the birth details, did you say he was born 'AROUND 1897'? |

Have you found Ethel's death? I know it's a bit of a tangent but her death cert might give a clue or two. There are only 4 in Nottinghamshire and birth years are widely spaced so might be possible to pin her down: |

Dajean - That is the correct birth record as i have that ref. He stayed in notts as far as we no. His first child was born in 1920 so the marriage in 1919 will poss also be correct one. |

It would appear that they had children in 1920 and 1922 |

'Around 1897' isn't really accurate enough for a search for his death |

Did they stay in Nottinghamshire as far as you know? Might help to have his actual birth date as if he died after 1970 this will be shown on the records (assuming the informant knew it). |
