Thanks Allison, that could be them as the young daughter was named Lillian Beatrice Gwendoline b1908 Reg. Lowe and after their marriage adopted by Henry. She was his biological child. The 5 yrs of marriage does not add up but then not everything on a census is always true.
Do you know whether there is an adoption record that is available for research?
Regards and thanks Brenda

Hi Patricia,

Not sure about the 1911 I posted as Brenda has made no comment. His Job doesn't really fit but I guess he could have changed work when moving to london.

There is this death in for Henry. Brenda did say that they thought he died a few years later than lilian.
If it is him the age would fit to the Henry in 1911 census.

Deaths Dec 1922
Foster Lilian B Kensington 1a 18
.....................................................................................................

Deaths Sep 1925 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Foster Henry J 51 Kensington 1a 143

I think it might pay for Brenda to buy the DC of Lilian at least she would get parents from that.

Is the 1911 census posted the correct family?
If not, what was the name of the illegitimate daughter?
Thanks

Newspaper article says

Foster re Thomas Lowe of Aldershot Hants Will the descendants of Lilian Beatrice Foster who died 17th October 1922 in the Kensington district of London please communicate with Messrs Hollest Mason & Nash of Aldershot Solicitors when they will hear something to their advantage.

Written underneath (not all clear)

Foster Lilian Beatrice of 7 Clarendon Street, SW1 wife of Harry? maybe Henry Foster a Commercial Traveller Fancy Goods died 17.10.22 at 14 Pembridge Square Kensington North (unreadable couple of words) Informant Harry? Foster widower of 7 Clarendon Street W1. Dated Dec. 22.

Seems to be the right one because of the occupation.

Does anyone know how to copy the original - I am not that good on this machine. It looks as if the widower of 17 Clarenden Street is a Harry Foster. Can somebody help me out (Ancestry record)

Thanks Ginny, looks like it might be the one. She died in London SW1 so maybe Henry Foster was from there. I have searched the Parish records for London for a marriage without any joy, and haven't been able to find them in the Middlelands either.
