The only entries for Edwin H Tatton in the GRO indxex.

Obviously the mention in the will ties your AJT to the one born Portsea living in Woolwich!

I have bought the record. Right day and month for birthday but 2 years out - unlikely to be claiming to be older as he was only 8 months short of his 21st when signed on. Otherwise, all fits, such as the limited detail given. Occupation given as Steward & Cook which fits in with later occupations of caterer and hotel manager. Short naval career though - March 1892 to Jan 1893! I will have to do some research and naval abbreviations - looks like he fell short of required standards for a long naval career!
