Hi Sharon

Re the last bit of info - was this for someone else? I don't think I have any Lang family members in the tree. The Pearson baptisms yesterday were correct - thanks

Hi Dee, Yes, I should have mentioned Selina's name as well. I do have Ancestry and will look for the tree. I think I also came across an Ada on genes as well so it could be the same person. Thanks for the tip

BUT................. do you have Ancestry?

If you do there is a locked family tree with Ada Mary Pearson born Notts 1876 on there, maybe you could contact the owner prior to sending for the marriage cert, it may save a few pennies if this tree owner knows anything.

Hi Jackie,

Maureen noticed that they had a daughter Selina Grace.......... both mothers names, and then there is also the son Frederick JOHN. If I was a betting woman I would say yes this is the correct Fredericks family, BUT as we all know surprises in this game do happen.

I noted from his WW1 records that sadly Frederick died in WW1, I was hoping that the CWGC had his wife and parents listed, but typical nothing!!

Dee

Looking at the earlier census records you suggested, I think they could be the correct ones. Especially as one of his daughters has Grace as a middle name.

I haven't come across a Mansfield Woodhouse connection, but it's early days

Ooh, I have Pearsons from Mansfield Wodhouse in Notts.

I agree Dee. I know from the past not to jump to conclusions. I'm a bit of a stickler for facts, as my folder full of certicates would confirm! I'd also hate to make a big mistake when it's for a friend.

Jackie,

i agree I think the best bet to confirm Fredericks fathers name is the marriage certificate, if the occupations matched on the 1911 and 1901 and think we could definately say that we were on the right tracks. However they don't and seeing that his WW1 Service record gives a year of birth as 1878 (probably just told a little fib here), I would just double check.

Thanks for all the census records. I know the 1911 one is correct as the children are named in the war service record. I'll look into the 1891 and 1901 for Fredrick again. The one for Ada fits in with what I have found previously - thanks. I think the marriage cert/parish record is what I really need now to confirm Fredrick's father's name.

Those look spot on to me-especially considering the daughter Selina Grace.

Thanks for 1911 info Maureen. I've done lots of searching in earlier census records but can't be certain I'm finding the correct person. I feel I may have to order the certificate to trace his father.
