Thanks to everyone, I have read the full event's of what happened. He went bankrupt in the end, it looks like he was involved with a few other so called Gents who set out to swindle others. He was not found guilty but he and the others went out of business.
I bet it was him lost my inheritance. ha ha

any chance of him being in Ireland in 1901 and/ or 1911??

or a check on that list of 1911 surnames to see the status of these Abner's

19/4/1884.
Brady (Capt) RA,while out excersing one of Major Torkingtons horse on Ashley Down the animal bolted and jumped over into a pit,the horse and rider had a plungee of about 22 ft,Capt brady sustained a broken leg and other injuries.

Well the plot thickens, I cannot find a will for him , it seems odd because all the family seem to have left wills. His son was a solicitor soI will have to dig deeper

When he moved into the family home I believe that Janet and Ellen moved out and went to live in Shrewsbury.
Janet died in 1921 leaving her money to Ellen £1831.8s.7p a good amount in those days

I don't have the address of where he died Just Blean Kent.
He was a Major in the Army.
I will look at the entry Glitter Baby, it could be miss transcribed
He did own a insurance company with his wife Janet so it could be him

Hi

on the original of the 1911 census found by Glitterbaby he has filled in the marriage details even though he shouldn't. His signature does look like Torkington.

It says he had been married 40 years and had 4 children. Does this fit what you know about him?
