The only other thing I can think of is the death certificate of the William Hatchett that Fanny by gaslight found in 1911. Just in case he was related and Annie happened to register his death perhaps?

Deaths Mar 1922
Hatchett William 77 Droxford 2c 209

So I think my only way of going forward, assuming her parents eventually married (!!), is to find an ann registered under her mothers name, and then see if I can find a marriage with that maiden name to a hatchett??

That's assuming as you said that it is actually her father, and not her grandfather, or someone else! This link of my family is a complete brain teaser ;)

Typo when I put Hackett instead of Hatchett..I have been looking under Hatchett;)
I dont really see that she can be one of the Hatchett / Stubbingtons as they are born too close to give the gap for her birth..Maybe though..Fact is often stranger than fiction

Victoria Report 24 Dec 2010 18:49

her marriage cert states william hatchett, deceased.

FannyByGaslight Report 24 Dec 2010 18:44

Nor can I am afraid, all I can say is that she may have been William Hacketts daughter and knew that but reg in her mothers name.

There is only one Ann born at the right time in Droxford reg district and thats this one

Births Mar 1915
Walker Anne V Gibbs Droxford 2c 282

And I dont see that being her.

Victoria Report 24 Dec 2010 18:37

Im not aware if she had any brothers or sisters although I can find 3 that could be being born around the time she was, in droxford which is the disrtict she was married and lived in. The mothers maiden name is stubbington, and father is william. On her marriage she is 20. I think I have her death which is in 2001 and this gives her d.o.b as 30 nov 1914. But I can find no birth in the whole country under that name and date!

Do you know if Annie had any brothers and sisters please?

And what age did she give on her marriage?

Victoria

Victoria Report 24 Dec 2010 18:17

I'm wondering if Annie was her middle name and she took it as her first name as can't find her birth anywhere.

Victoria

Victoria Report 24 Dec 2010 18:13

She states School Hill in Bishops Waltham as her address so could be possibilty! Thanks.

FannyByGaslight Report 24 Dec 2010 18:07

One possible..I wonder if she has put her grandfather down as father,or he remarried late to a younger woman OR he is her father but wasnt married to Annies mother and therefore Annie is under her mothers maiden name?
Lots of ifs here it seems..

Hello, I known its been a while but I have Annies marriage marriage cert now! Her father is named as William Hatchett, a Coal Merchant, and deceased. The marriage took place in 1935. Is anyone able to find them on the 1911 for me, thank you.

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 19 Nov 2010 20:56

Hopefully it will give you her fathers name and occupation (if she knew it and didnt lie of course!)then we may be able to get somewhere by searching 1911.
Also some of her family may be a witness?
We will get nowhere without it I am afraid,I really tried yesterday even to searching 1911 for maybe a clue in the area you say,but nothing that helped....
